Project Overview
As a landscape architecture team, our scope involves designing the outdoor public realm and landscape for 500 Huntington Avenue in Boston. We collaborated with architects, civil engineers, structural engineers, sustainability consultants, MEP engineers, traffic engineers, and geotechnical engineers to create a sustainable and vibrant space for public access and interaction.
Goals
Create an accessible open space, a vibrant and sustainable pedestrian, and a bike-friendly street that integrates with and accentuates the broader neighborhood.
Provide over 1.5 acres of new, publicly accessible open space while providing strong connectivity through the site.
Bring accessible and inviting ground-floor restaurants and retail to the neighborhood.
Remain within the approved density, height, parking, and uses of the approved zoning and incorporate the Avenue of the Arts Design Guidelines.
